Dear all, I met Olena at the helper market in Munich last Sunday. Olena made her way from Ukraine to Germany some time ago. She brought herself and her dog to safety.
We talked at the helper market and she told us about her escape. She also mentioned that she is often short of food at the end of the month, but prefers to buy food for her dog rather than food for herself. We wanted to support her and gave her 12 kg of food and a tick repellent.
Those who focus on their dog and prefer to do without themselves must, in my view, be supported. This also showed us that it is of course not only difficult in Ukraine, but that there are also challenges here on the ground in Germany that we have to solve together.
